Our news and our nation are focused on China, India, Iraq, and Afghanistan when many of the biggest challenges and opportunities lie along our southern border, and further south. The September 11, 2011 issue of the Economist, which has become my favorite magazine, has a huge section devoted to Latin America and what is going on there today and into the future.
